Day 2 - Karakorum and Erdene Zuu via Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes

We'll pick you up from your accommodation and embark on a direct drive to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dune, covering a distance of 250 kms. Located within the Khogno Khan Nature Reserve, this area boasts splendid mountains and represents two or three natural zones. Enjoy a one-hour camel trekking experience with the support of a local camel man, traversing the golden sand dunes. Our journey continues to Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Once the heart of the empire, Karakorum was later abandoned and destroyed. Today, the awe-inspiring ancient Erdenezuu Monastery stands amidst the wide valley of the Orkhon River, coexisting with the town of Kharkhorin.

Day 3 - Khustai Nuruu national park

Embark on a journey to Hustai National Park, a vital site for the re-introduction of Przewalski’s horse, known locally as Tahki. This unique species faced extinction in the wild during the 1960s, and since 1992, successful re-introduction efforts have taken place in Hustai and other parts of Mongolia, involving individuals sourced from zoos worldwide.
