Day 2 - Karakorum city via Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes

In the morning, we will collect you from your accommodation and commence our journey by driving to Karakorum (modern-day Kharkorin town) via the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. As we leave the city, we'll pass by some local shops before embarking on a 260 km drive through the vast steppe to reach the sand dunes. Elsen Tasarkhai, situated within the Khogno Khan Nature Reserve, offers a glimpse of the Gobi Desert in the midst of the Khangai mountain range. Upon arrival, indulge in the joy of camel riding through the golden sand dunes, guided by an experienced camel handler. After a delightful lunch, our journey continues to Karakorum, the historic capital of the Mongolian Empire and a pivotal hub along the Silk Road. Day 3 - Ikh Tamir village

Along the way, we'll stop at the renowned Taikhar Rock, situated 22 kilometers northeast of Tsertserleg town in the village of Ikh Tamir. This sizable 20-meter high granite rock bears witness to history with over 150 inscriptions in various languages, spanning different periods such as runic, Sogd, Uyghur, Mongolian, Nangiad, and Tibetan writings. Among them, the oldest is a runic inscription from the 6th and 7th centuries during the Turkish period. By the afternoon, we'll arrive at the nomadic family's dwelling. Extend a warm welcome to the nomad family, where you'll share lunch and engage in a basic introduction. The afternoon continues with a Ger building program, offering you a firsthand experience of assembling a Ger.
