SHORT DESCRIPTION
Hustai National Park, designated a Specially Protected Area in 1993, is situated in the Khentii Mountains, approximately 100 km west of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital. Spanning Altanbulag, Argalant, and Bayankhangai Soums in the Tov province, this park covers 50.6 hectares of land. Home to a diverse ecosystem, it hosts 459 vascular plant species, 85 lichen species, 90 moss species, and 33 mushroom species. Wildlife thrives in the park, with 44 recorded mammal species such as Red deer, Mongolian gazelle, Roe deer, Wild boar, Wild sheep, Ibex, Mongolian marmots, Grey wolves, Lynx, Pallas’ cat, Red fox, Corsac fox, and Eurasian badger. Bird enthusiasts can spot 217 bird species, including the Golden eagle, Lammergeier, Great bustard, Whooper swan, Black stork, Daurian partridge, and Little owl. The aquatic realm is represented by 16 fish species, complemented by 2 amphibian species and an insect population of 385 species. Adding to its significance, UNESCO recognized Hustai National Park in 2002 as a member of the world biosphere network of natural reserves. Notably, a new soil insect species discovered in Hustai has been named Epidamaeus khustaiensis.

Some days will feature lunchboxes prepared by our cook.

Day 2 - Khustai Nuruu national park

The approximately 2-hour drive leads to Khustai National Park, a significant site for the re-introduction of the wild Przewalski horses since 1992. Upon arrival, indulge in a satisfying lunch at the camp. Explore the informative visitor center, where you'll gather essential facts and insights. Day 3 - Khustai Nuruu national park
