Amarbayasgalant Monastery, also known as the “Monastery of Tranquil Felicity,” is one of the three largest and most important Buddhist centers in Mongolia. Located in the Iven Valley near the Selenge River, the monastery sits peacefully beneath the shadow of the Burenkhan Mountain, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

 

Built between 1727 and 1737 by order of Manchu Emperor Yongzheng, it honors Zanabazar, the first Bogd (spiritual leader) of Mongolia.
