Naadam festival grand tour /14 days/
SHORT DESCRIPTION
Embark on a journey through Mongolia's most beautiful natural, historical, and cultural landmarks, including the legendary Gobi Desert, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, Karakorum, and the first and largest Buddhist monastery, Erdene Zuu. A highlight of this adventure is the Great Naadam Festival, one of Mongolia's most significant public ceremonies celebrated annually from July 11th to 13th. Naadam, meaning the Three Manly Games, features the sports of wisdom, courage, and strength: wrestling, archery, and horse racing. In the National Naadam wrestling competition, 512 wrestlers vie for titles such as "Falcon" (Nachin), "Elephant" (Zaan), "Lion" (Arslan), and the esteemed "Champion" (Avarga). The horse racing event, divided into six categories based on the age of horses, showcases the skills of young jockeys aged 6 to 11. Archers from across the country compete, and the winner earns the title of "Archer of Greatest Wisdom" (Erkhiin Mergen Kharvaach). Immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of Mongolia and witness the prowess and traditions of the Three Manly Games at the heart of Naadam.
