Embark on a captivating fishing expedition to explore the wild rivers of northwestern Mongolia, guided by our experienced expedition leader. Your journey will lead you to the best fishing spots in Mongolia's northernmost province, bordering Siberia to the north. This adventure promises a tranquil and scenic experience in the far northwest. You'll indulge in fishing along the Alag Tseel River and in the Darkhad Valley, surrounded by breathtaking snowy peaks. The valley, boasting over 300 lakes, is a haven for birdwatchers. The Alag Tseel River, with its slow flow, is rich in graylings, lenoks, and remarkably large taimen. Proceed to the Shishgid and Tengis rivers, a paradise for fly fishing enthusiasts. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you to prime spots for Siberian salmon, Armour River pikes, burbots, lenok, grayling, and the formidable taimen, known as the 'giant trout of Asia' that can grow up to 6 feet. Don't forget to unleash your creativity in fly-making, as taimen has been known to consume rats and ground squirrels!

ESSENTIALS

GUIDE
A Chinese, English, or Russian-speaking Mongolian guide will accompany the group throughout the trip. The guide, a native Mongolian with extensive local knowledge, will cater to any requests, ensuring your holiday becomes an unforgettable experience.
TRANSPORT
For this trip, you have two options. The first is a high-level, latest model, air-conditioned private 4WD vehicle for maximum comfort during your touring days. The second option is a Russian 4x4 Van, operated by a driver with 20 years of experience.
MEALS
In Mongolia, dining will take place at fine American, European, and Asian cuisine restaurants. The Mongolian diet primarily consists of mutton, beef, rice, and noodles, forming the basis of your meals. Trail rations may include vegetables, eggs, peanut butter, cheese, and occasionally yak! Some days will feature lunchboxes prepared by our cook.
